The Florida Chamber Foundation today released research on how Florida can align and leverage private, public and civic partners during its Florida 2030 Civic & Governance Pillar Rollout event. Florida 2030 is a three-year research project that seeks to identify the challenges and opportunities facing the state between now and 2030 in order to create a blueprint for Florida’s future.
“Securing Florida’s future includes the leaders and residents of every community using Florida 2030 as a blueprint to plan for continued success,” said Tony Carvajal, Executive Vice President of the Florida Chamber Foundation. “Working together, and using research to inform our decision-making, we can ensure a path to prosperity for every Floridan.”
Discussion at today’s statewide rollout centered on how Florida can continue to make government and civics more efficient and effective — at the local level and state. Leaders from around the state looked at the key targets and strategies for growth identified in Florida 2030, including:
-
How can Florida ensure that 100 percent of state agencies are aligned with Florida 2030 goals? By using the Florida Chamber Foundation’s Six Pillars as a framework, public, private and civic partners across the state can be aligned around a shared economic vision.
-
Florida has an opportunity to strengthen regional partnerships that are focused on future competitiveness and prosperity for all residents.
-
Florida is currently in the bottom quartile — 19.1 percent — for volunteerism. Data in Florida 2030 lays out strategies on how Florida can double that rate, moving the state from the bottom to the top quartile.
