Spring Hill man turns $5 into $500,000 playing the $500,000 PAYDAY Scratch-Off game

Posted on November 29, 2018

The Florida Lottery announces that Branden Maldonado, 20, of Spring Hill, claimed a $500,000 top prize from the $500,000 PAYDAY Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. He purchased his winning ticket from 7-Eleven, located at 14333 Spring Hill Drive in Spring Hill.

The $5 game, $500,000 PAYDAY, features six top prizes of $500,000 and over $57.9 million in total cash prizes. The game’s overall odds of winning are one-in-4.03.

Scratch-Offs are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, generating more than $871 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in FY 2017-18, and comprising approximately 69 percent of ticket sales.
