Law enforcement seeking the public’s help to solve this homicide
The Hallandale Beach Police Department and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement announced the remains found last week in Miami Gardens are those of Lynda Meier. The 40-year-old went missing on June 4, 2010, when she failed to pick up her mother for a doctor’s appointment. Investigators say her death was a homicide.
“The identification of Ms. Meier means we are one step closer to solving this case and holding her killers accountable,” said FDLE Miami Special Agent in Charge Troy Walker. “We now have evidence that we didn’t have before, and we are optimistic that this case will be solved.”
“We don’t ever give up, and our community didn’t give up either,” said Hallandale Beach Police Chief Sonia Quinones. “With the public’s help, we found Lynda’s body. Now we are asking for their help to solve this case.”
The continuing efforts of investigators, along with tips from the public, led to the recovery of Meier’s remains. Now that the case is a homicide investigation, a team of investigators, analysts and forensic scientists are following up on new leads.
