Gov. Scott Appoints Five to the District and County Courts
Judges appointed to the Second and Fifth District Courts of
Appeal and to the Duval and Miami-Dade County Courts
Governor Rick Scott today announced appointments to the Second and Fifth District Courts of Appeal and to the Duval and Miami-Dade County Courts.
Andrea Teves Smith is appointed to the Second District Court of Appeal. Smith, 49, of Lakeland, is a Circuit Judge in the Tenth Judicial Circuit. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and her law degree from Stetson University College of Law. Smith fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Marva Crenshaw.
Meredith Sasso is appointed to the Fifth District Court of Appeal. Sasso, 35, of Orlando, is the Chief Deputy General Counsel to the Executive Office of the Governor. She received her bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Florida. Sasso fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Vincent Torpy.
Erin Perry is appointed to the Duval County Court. Perry, 37, of Jacksonville, is a Circuit Court Division Chief in the State Attorney’s Office for the Fourth Judicial Circuit. She received her bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Florida. Perry fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Lester Bass.
Natalie Moore is appointed to the Miami-Dade County Court. Moore, 38, of Cooper City, is an Assistant State Attorney and Training Director in the State Attorney’s Office for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit. She received her bachelor’s, master’s, and law degrees from the University of Florida. Moore fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Carlos Guzman.
Robert Watson is appointed to the Miami-Dade County Court. Watson, 47, of Miami, is a Principal with Kobre & Kim LLP. He received his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and his law degree from Stanford Law School. Watson fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Alex Bokor.
Gov. Scott Appoints Leigh Giunta to Early Coalition
of Indian River, Martin, and Okeechobee Counties
Governor Rick Scott today announced the appointment of Leigh Giunta to the Early Learning Coalition of Indian River, Martin, and Okeechobee counties.
Giunta, 47, of Palm City, is a first vice president and investment officer for Wells Fargo Advisors. Giunta fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning January 7, 2019, and ending April 30, 2021.
Gov. Scott Appoints Jeffrey Novotny to
Florida Transportation Commission
Governor Rick Scott today announced the appointment of Jeffrey Novotny to the Florida Transportation Commission.
Novotny, 52, of Wesley Chapel is the principal and project manager for American Consulting Engineers of Florida. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Bradley University. Novotny succeeds Kenneth Wright and is appointed for a term beginning January 7, 2019, and ending September 30, 2022.
This appointment is subject to senate confirmation.
Gov. Scott Appoints Wesley Davis as Indian River Property Appraiser
Governor Rick Scott today announced the appointment of Wesley Davis as Indian River Property Appraiser. He is appointed to fill the vacancy created by the passing of David Nolte on November 6,2018.
Davis, 49, of Vero Beach, is a lifelong Indian River County resident and fourth generation citrus grower. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and is a former county commissioner and school board member. He is appointed as Indian River County Property Appraiser for a term beginning January 7, 2019.
Gov. Scott Appoints Enrique Ginzburg to Board of Medicine
Governor Rick Scott today announced the appointment of Dr. Enrique Ginzburg to the Board of Medicine.
Dr. Enrique Ginzburg, 60, of Miami Beach, is a professor of clinical surgery at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. He fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning January 7, 2019, and ending October 31, 2022.
This appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
