Public Meeting for the North Lake Trail Phase 3 and Black Bear Trail

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public information meeting regarding the North Lake Trail Phase 3 and Black Bear Trail Corridor Planning Studies on Thursday, Jan. 24, 5:30-7 p.m. at the Astor Community Association located at 24148 Ann Street in Astor.

The study limits for each project are:

  • North Lake Trail Phase 3:  S.R. 19 from County Road (C.R.) 450/Bulldog Lane to S.R. 40 in Lake County
  • Black Bear Trail: S.R. 40 from Levy Hammock Road to U.S. 17 in Lake, Marion and Volusia counties

The meeting is being held as an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. during which time displays and other project information will be available for review. Staff will also be available to discuss the project. An informational looping presentation will be given throughout the meeting.

The meeting is being conducted to present the recommended improvements, seek public and agency input, and provide interested persons an opportunity to express their views about the projects. The proposed improvements will provide a safe and accessible paved facility for bicyclists, pedestrians and other non-motorized users of all ages and abilities.
