Detour Planned for Westbound U.S. 92 in Daytona Beach

Posted on January 25, 2019

The westbound lanes of U.S. 92 (International Speedway Boulevard) will be closed continuously from North Charles Street to Marion Street from about 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, through 7 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1. Eastbound lanes will remain open.

The closure is needed to place new storm pipe under International Speedway Boulevard as part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to improve drainage along International Speedway Boulevard, and Marion and Charles streets.

During the closure, westbound traffic will be directed around the work area using U.S. 1 (Ridgewood Avenue), and George W. Engram and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. boulevards. Drivers on southbound Ridgewood Avenue will be directed to take Orange Avenue west to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard north and back to International Speedway Boulevard.

Access to businesses located on International Speedway Boulevard between Ridgewood Avenue and North Charles Street will be maintained.

Please note schedules may change due to weather or other circumstances. Electronic message boards and other signage will help to direct motorists. Updates are available on the FDOT Central Florida website, www.cflroads.com.

Media inquiries should be directed to the FDOT Communications Office at 386-943-5497 or [email protected].
