Senator Taddeo Intensifies Efforts on Maduro Ouster

Posted on February 1, 2019

Intensifying her efforts to break the grip of Venezuelan strongman Nicolas Maduro on the people of Venezuela, state Senator Annette Taddeo (D-Miami) has filed a Proclamation in support of First Consul Scarlet Salazer, Venezuelan Consulate in Miami, for her courage in recognizing Juan Guaidó as the legitimate Interim President of Venezuela. The measure is also intended to encourage other Venezuelan diplomats and leaders to follow First Consul Salazar’s lead.

“I support the brave steps taken by First Consul Scarlet Salazar in recognizing Juan Guaidó as the legitimate Interim President of Venezuela,” said Senator Taddeo. “The Venezuelan people have been suffering for far too long and this step by First Consul Salazar and other Venezuelan leaders in rejecting the Maduro dictatorship, will help Venezuela transition to democracy. This proclamation reaffirms to the Venezuelan people and the world that we are standing in solidarity with Interim President Guaido.”

Senator Taddeo recently spearheaded efforts on behalf of Miami-Dade Legislative Delegation to send a letter to the Florida Congressional Delegation, encouraging action be taken by the Congress and the President to fully reject Maduro, and support Guaidó as the legitimate Interim President of Venezuela.
