The leaders of UPC Insurance, GuideWell Mutual Holding Corp. and Macquarie Bank Limited will share their business experience and expertise at The University of Tampa’s annual Fellows Forum on Tuesday, Feb.19, at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Ferguson Hall. A continental breakfast will be served at 7:15 a.m., and the program will run from 8–9:30 a.m.
Speakers include John L. Forney, CEO of UPC Insurance; Patrick J. Geraghty, president and CEO of GuideWell Mutual Holding Corp.; and Mary Reemst, managing director and CEO of Macquarie Bank Limited.
Forney has served as CEO of UPC Insurance since 2012. UPC Insurance is a specialized property catastrophe insurance writer with a diversified $1.2 billion book of business in 12 coastal states. A former U.S. Army infantry officer and graduate of Ranger School, Forney previously served in a number of different capacities at Raymond James, including managing director in the public finance department.
Geraghty is president and CEO of GuideWell Mutual Holding Corp., Florida Blue and GuideWell Group Inc. GuideWell is a mutual insurance holding company and is a family of forward-thinking companies focused on transforming health care. Geraghty is active in leading professional and community organizations, including serving on the board of the National Institute of Health Care Management.
Reemst was appointed managing director and CEO of Macquarie Bank Limited in 2014. Macquarie Bank Limited is the Authorised Deposit-Taking Institution for Macquarie Group Limited. Reemst joined Macquarie in 1999 and was appointed head of the Credit Division in Macquarie’s Risk Management Group in 2003, a position she held until she was named managing director and CEO.
The forum will be moderated by Stacie Schaible of WFLA News Channel 8.
Tickets are $40 and may be purchased through the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce’s website at tampachamber.com. Proceeds from the event go toward the Board of Fellows Endowed Scholarship, which supports students in the Sykes College of Business.
Since 1987, the Fellows Forum has been the annual flagship event for The University of Tampa Board of Fellows, bringing nationally recognized executives to Tampa to share their business experiences. Last year’s forum attracted more than 1,000 attendees.
