Drivers need to be aware that the eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) off ramp to State Road 44 (S.R. 44) (Exit 118) is scheduled to be closed from 10 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, to 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, to replace an overhead sign. Traffic heading to S.R. 44 will be directed to take westbound Orange Camp Road (Exit 116) to northbound Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Beltway to S.R. 44.

This is one of three detours planned during the next few weeks as part of a project to install new interchange lighting and replace overhead signs at various interchanges along I-4 from U.S. 17/92 in Seminole County to the U.S. 92 off ramp in Volusia County.

Other upcoming closures and detours are:

  • The westbound I-4 off ramp to U.S. 17/92 (Exit 104) will be closed from 10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, to 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28. Traffic will be directed to stay on westbound I-4 to S.R. 46 (Exit 101C) and travel east on S.R. 46 and north on Monroe Road to U.S. 17/92.
  • The westbound I-4 off ramp to S.R. 44 (Exit 118) will be closed from 10 p.m. Sunday, March 3, to 5 a.m. Monday, March 4. Traffic will be directed to stay on westbound I-4 to Orange Camp Road (Exit 116). Drivers will travel west on Orange Camp Road to northbound Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Beltway to S.R. 44.

Please note schedules may change due to weather or other circumstances. Electronic message boards and other signage will help to direct motorists. Updates are available on the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Central Florida website, cflroads.com.

Media inquiries should be directed to the FDOT Communications Office at [email protected], or by phone at 386-943-5479.

The FDOT urges all drivers to stay alert and use caution while driving through or near construction zones.
