FDLE agents with Orlando’s Cybercrime Unit, assisted by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and Tampa FDLE agents, today arrested Kenneth Lee Strawn, 51, of 4708 W. El Prado Blvd., Tampa.
Strawn was charged with traveling to meet a minor, transmitting harmful material to a minor, solicitation of a minor and unlawful use of a two-way communications device related to contact with an underage female in Seminole County.
Agents launched an investigation after the teenage victim reported she had received messages via an app from Strawn. The two had been exchanging messages on an app for several days when Strawn asked her to switch to another platform. Agents learned Strawn then asked the victim to send him sexual images, and he sent her sexually explicit photos of himself. Several days later, Strawn traveled to Seminole County where he made hotel reservations with the intent to engage in sexual activity with the girl.
Strawn will be held on a no-bond status at the Hillsborough County Jail until his initial appearance before a Seminole County judge. Attorney General Ashley Moody’s Office of Statewide Prosecution will prosecute.
