Motorists should be alert for construction personnel and equipment during an upcoming closure of the railroad crossing on West Moody Boulevard (State Road (S.R.) 11) just west of State Street (U.S. 1). The closure will require a four-day continuous detour for surface reconstruction work at the railroad crossing. Motorists should expect the detour to begin around 6 a.m., Saturday, March 16. Crews are anticipating the work to be complete by 6 a.m., Wednesday, March 20.

The following detours will be in place:

  • Eastbound traffic on West Moody Boulevard: go north on North Bay Street, right on East Lambert Street, right on North Railroad Street, back to West Moody Boulevard.
  • Westbound traffic on East Moody Boulevard wanting to access West Moody Boulevard: turn right (north) onto U.S. 1 at the intersection, go north and turn left onto West Palm Avenue, then right onto North Railroad Street, left onto Deen Road, left (south) on North Bay Street, back to West Moody Boulevard.

Semi-truck traffic will be directed to follow a different posted detour route using DuPont Road (County Road (C.R.) 304):

  • Eastbound semi-truck traffic: use DuPont Road (C.R. 304) to U.S. 1.
  • Westbound semi-truck truck traffic: go south on U.S. 1 to DuPont Road (C.R. 304) back to West Moody Boulevard (S.R. 11).

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is providing project support to the Florida East Coast Railway, LLC. For more information about the project, contact Mr. Leslie Schonder with the Florida East Coast Railway, LLC at 904-279-3196.

FDOT urges all drivers to stay alert and use caution while driving through or near construction zones. When driving, walking, or bicycling, remember to pay attention and follow the rules. Safety doesn’t happen by accident.
