Statement by Michael L. Halmon of the Florida Association of Cosmetologists and Technical Schools on Passage of HB 27 in Business & Professions Subcommittee

Posted on March 19, 2019

“The tools of cosmetology professions, from sharp instruments to chemicals, can have a significant impact on the health and safety of Floridians who come to us for care. House Bill 27 would give Florida the weakest cosmetology-related regulations in the nation and significantly undermine public health protections for potentially millions of Florida residents and visitors.

As this bill moves forward, we will continue to work with legislators and passionately advocate for public health and safety standards within our profession.”
