The Transportation and Tourism Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman says
leaders at all levels have worked together to fund Michael recovery projects.
State Representative Jay Trumbull today announced that nearly $200 million for projects in Bay County, as well as other Panhandle communities, is included in the appropriations requests from the Transportation and Tourism Appropriations Subcommittee, which he chairs. The funds will go toward infrastructure repair and affordable housing needs as part of recovery efforts following Hurricane Michael last October.
“It is absolutely vital that we get these much-needed projects funded,” said Trumbull. “Individuals, families, and local governments and other institutions are continuing to suffer as we rebuild what was destroyed during Michael, and this funding will provide the ability to keep moving ahead with recovery. These requests are the result of a lot of teamwork and cooperation among my colleagues in the legislature as well as local officials. Senator George Gainer and I have been on the same page when it comes to making sure we move our recovery efforts forward, and I appreciate his hard work.”
