First Lady Casey DeSantis Addresses Children’s Week Award Dinner

Posted on March 25, 2019

First Lady Casey DeSantis, joined today by Department of Children and Families (DCF) Secretary Chad Poppell, addressed the Children’s Week Award Dinner and Reception to help kick off 2019 Children’s Week and recognize Children’s Week partners and non-profit organizations that dedicate their lives to children.

“I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to help advocate for some of the most vulnerable citizens of our society,” said First Lady DeSantis. “As Children’s Week kicks off, I look forward to finding meaningful ways to support, defend and protect children throughout the state.”

“It is such an honor to have the support of First Lady Casey DeSantis as we celebrate 2019 Children’s Week,” said DCF Secretary Poppell. “Children are Florida’s most precious resource and I am proud to stand next to so many dedicated individuals who work so hard to make the lives of Florida’s children better every day.”

Children’s Week supports more than 50 community events and activities each year. These events provide thousands of parents, children, policy makers, professionals and community leaders the opportunity to share knowledge and information about children’s issues in communities across the state.
