Southbound U.S. 1 will close near Old Dixie Highway for about four hours tonight, Thursday, March 28, beginning at 10 p.m. The closure is needed to repair recently damaged temporary barrier wall being used as part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to construct a new roundabout on U.S. 1 at Old Dixie Highway near Bunnell.
During the work, southbound U.S. 1 traffic will be diverted onto Seminole Woods Boulevard. Southbound U.S. 1 will be accessible from Old Dixie Highway. Traffic may take Seminole Woods Boulevard to eastbound Moody Boulevard (State Road 100) to southbound Interstate 95 and return to southbound U.S. 1 using Old Dixie Highway (Exit 278) or by continuing to the U.S. 1 interchange (Exit 273).
Please note that construction schedules may change due to weather or other circumstances. Electronic message boards will be used to alert drivers to the closure.
For media inquiries, please contact the FDOT District Five Communications Office at [email protected], or by phone at 386-943-5479.
The FDOT reminds all drivers to use caution in construction zones. Please slow down and stay alert for everyone’s safety.
