Governor Ron DeSantis Recognizes Vietnam Veterans Day in Florida

Posted on March 29, 2019

Governor Ron DeSantis today issued a proclamation recognizing the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War and released a video in partnership Veterans Alternative Inc. to honor all of Florida’s veterans.

“On this Vietnam Veterans Day, we recognize the more than 519,000 Vietnam-era veterans who call Florida home and honor the sacrifices they made,” said Governor DeSantis. “As we remember the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War, I encourage everyone to honor the sacrifices that veterans make. I recently had the honor to participate in a Pro-Celebrity-Am benefiting Veterans Alternative who has made great strides in healing the wounds our veterans carry.”

Governor DeSantis has designated March 29, 2019 as Vietnam Veterans Day in Florida which presents the opportunity for the people of Florida to honor and thank our Vietnam veterans for their service to our country. For a PDF copy of the proclamation, click HERE.

This recognition followed Governor DeSantis’ announcement earlier today of Forward March, an initiative which aims to deliver the combined energy and resources of Florida’s state agencies, veterans’ service organizations, private partners and local communities.
