Motorists traveling Interstate 4 (I-4) in Volusia County can expect nighttime ramp closures and detours next week at the State Road (S.R.) 472 interchange in Deltona. Only one ramp will be closed at a time for paving as part of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to resurface all lanes and interchange ramps along I-4 from east of S.R. 472 to west of Saxon Boulevard.

The schedule of ramp closures and posted detours are as follows:

  • Monday, April 8, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., the westbound I-4 off ramp onto S.R. 472 will be closed. Traffic will be directed to continue west on I-4 to Exit 111A and take Saxon Boulevard toward Deltona to eastbound I-4 and back to S.R. 472.
  • Tuesday, April 9, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., the westbound I-4 on ramp from S.R. 472 will be closed. Traffic will be directed to get onto I-4 eastbound to Exit 116 (Orange Camp Road) and take the ramp back to westbound I-4.
  • Wednesday, April 10, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., the eastbound I-4 off ramp to S.R. 472 will be closed. Traffic will be directed to continue east on I-4 to Exit 116 (Orange Camp Road) and take I-4 westbound back to S.R. 472.
  • Thursday, April 11, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., the eastbound I-4 on ramp from eastbound S.R. 472 will be closed. Traffic will be directed to continue east on S.R. 472 to Graves Avenue and make a U-turn to access eastbound I-4 from westbound S.R. 472.
  • Friday, April 12, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., the eastbound I-4 on ramp from westbound S.R. 472 will be closed. Traffic will be directed to continue west on S.R. 472 and make a U-turn to access eastbound I-4 from eastbound S.R. 472.

Please note schedules may change due to weather or other circumstances. Electronic message boards and other signage will be used to direct motorists. Updates are available on the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Central Florida website, cflroads.com.

Media inquiries should be directed to the FDOT Communications Office at [email protected], or by phone at 386-943-5479.

FDOT urges all drivers to stay alert and use caution while driving through or near construction zones. When driving, walking, or bicycling, remember to pay attention and follow the rules. Safety doesn’t happen by accident.
