Senator Manny Diaz today released the statement below on the Trump Administration announcement of tightened restrictions in U.S. policy on Cuba:
“The Trump Administration’s announcement today that it is tightening U.S. policy on Cuba sends a strong message that America does not turn a blind eye toward oppressive regimes like Castro’s in Cuba and Maduro’s in Venezuela.
“Instead, American leadership means using our power and influence to promote freedom and human dignity and to thwart dictatorships and those who cooperate with and benefit from them.
“This is good news for the Cuban exile community and all those who cherish freedom, and I applaud President Trump and his administration for following through with strong leadership that will have a positive impact on all those who have suffered at the hands of tyranny.”
