New Configuration to Open as Soon as Morning of April 23
The eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) travel lanes between Central Parkway and State Road (S.R.) 434 are shifting to the permanent configuration as soon as the morning of Tuesday, April 23.
Eastbound I-4 motorists looking to use Exit 94 to S.R. 434 will need to exit about a quarter of a mile sooner once the shift is completed.
A nighttime closure of the eastbound I-4 exit ramp to S.R. 434 is necessary to accommodate the shift. The ramp closure begins at 10 p.m. on Monday, April 22, and will conclude by 5 a.m. the next morning. Motorists should also expect lane closures on eastbound I-4 the night of April 22.
The new section of travel lanes will create more than 3 miles of travel lanes in the permanent configuration. A handout detailing the traffic shift and one-night closure of the eastbound I-4 exit ramp to S.R. 434 is available to view or download at fdot.tips/EBI4shift.
Modifications or extensions to these schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
