Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Monica Gordo and Fleur Lobree to the Third District Court of Appeal

Governor Ron DeSantis today announced the appointments of Monica Gordo and Fleur Lobree to the Third District Court of Appeal. The appointments mark the first time four women are seated on the Third District Court of Appeal.

“I’m proud to announce today that I’m appointing Monica Gordo and Fleur Lobree to the Third District Court of Appeal,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “These two brilliant legal professionals understand the proper role of the courts and the have demonstrated a firm commitment to our Constitution.”

Monica Gordo
Gordo, 43, of Florida, has served as a Judge of the 11th Circuit Court since 2010. She received her bachelor’s degree from University of Miami and her law degree from the University of Miami School of Law. Prior to joining the bench, Judge Gordo served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Miami State Attorney’s Office. Gordo fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Supreme Court Justice Barbara Lagoa.

Fleur Lobree
Lobree, 50, originally of Indiana, is a Legal Advisor and Assistant State Attorney for the 11th Circuit State Attorney’s Office. She received her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and her law degree from University of Miami School of Law. Lobree has also served as a Judge of the 11th Circuit Court. She fills the vacancy caused by the elevation of Supreme Court Justice Robert Luck.
