CFO Jimmy Patronis to Congress: The Panhandle Desperately Needs Hurricane Michael Relief Funding Now

Posted on April 25, 2019

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis sent a letter to Congressional leadership (Leader Mitch McConnell, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Leader Chuck Schumer, Leader Kevin McCarthy) today requesting immediate action on the passage of a Hurricane Michael relief bill to aid in the recovery efforts for the Florida Panhandle. It has been over six months since the Category 5 storm made landfall and impacted areas still do not have congressional relief dollars.

The letters can be found HERE.

CFO Patronis will be joined the following statewide officials, as well as the legislative delegation of the counties impacted by Hurricane Michael, at a press conference this afternoon (Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 2 p.m. EDT) to call on Congressional leadership to act immediately to provide much needed funding for the Florida Panhandle as they recover:

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody
Florida Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services Nikki Fried
State Senator George Gainer (Bay, Holmes, Jackson, Okaloosa, Walton, Washington)
State Senator Bill Montford (Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Hamilton, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Taylor, Wakulla)
State Representative Loranne Ausley (Parts of Leon and Jefferson counties)
State Representative Brad Drake (Holmes, Jackson, Walton, Washington and part of Bay counties)
State Representative Jay Trumbull (Parts of Bay and Gulf counties)
