Nightly Closures of EB I-4 Ramp System Near Princeton St. Scheduled for May 7-9

Posted on May 6, 2019

Princeton St. Under I-4 also Closing at Night

Traffic will be temporarily detoured off the eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) temporary ramp system on the nights of May 7, 8, and 9.

I-4 Ultimate crews are temporarily closing the temporary ramp system over Princeton Street. This temporary ramp system serves the interchanges between Colonial Drive (State Road 50) and Lee Road (State Road 423). The closure will occur from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. each night and is necessary to safely place bridge girders over Princeton Street. The detour route will require motorists to exit the temporary ramp system to Princeton Street, crossover Princeton Street and then re-enter the temporary ramp system. Traffic using the temporary ramp system from Downtown Orlando and Ivanhoe Boulevard will still be able to access the mainline of eastbound I-4 prior to the Princeton Street exit ramp.

In addition, Princeton Street under I-4 will close at 10 p.m. on the nights of May 6-13 and reopen by 5 a.m. the following mornings. The detour route for this closure will require motorist to use Colonial Drive.

Law enforcement will be present to monitor traffic signals and facilitate the flow of traffic at the interchange. A handout with more information and graphics detailing the detour routes is available at fdot.tips/princeton.

Modifications or extensions to these schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
