The League of Women Voters of Florida released the following statement in response to reports that Gov. Ron DeSantis had been briefed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding Russian hacking into two Florida county voting systems:
The security of our elections is of the utmost importance and we are glad that Gov. DeSantis has been fully briefed by the FBI. While thankfully vote tallies were reportedly not affected, the threat of a third party meddling in our elections remains and Florida must continue to take any and all threats to cybersecurity seriously, foreign or otherwise.
