In recognition of May as Military Appreciation Month, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis celebrates the commitment and sacrifices made by the roughly 102,706 military members and the estimated 1.5 million veterans who reside in the Sunshine State.
Florida is home to more than 65,800 active duty servicemembers including Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard members who report to one of the state’s 22 military installations. There are also more than 36,900 reserve and National Guard forces that proudly call Florida home.
CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “It is difficult to put into words my deep gratitude for the dedicated men and women of our armed services. The sacrifices these brave individuals make daily to defend and protect the nation and the people of the great state of Florida are tremendous. I thank every active duty military member, reservist, veteran and their families who call Florida home for their tireless service. You are our heroes and we are forever grateful.”
May is recognized as National Military Appreciation Month, an opportunity to honor today’s military men and women, veterans and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of our freedom.
