What: Please be advised that FDOT will commence a construction project at SR 70 at the Seminole Gulf Railway crossing to improve and upgrade the rail crossing.
Construction is anticipated to commence Saturday, June 8, 2019 and finish Friday, June 21, 2019, weather permitting. The improvements will require a total closure of SR 70. SR 70 will be closed to thru traffic at the rail crossing until construction is complete. FDOT and Seminole Gulf Railway will make every attempt to complete the work as quickly as possible. The rail crossing is located between 18th St Boulevard East and 17th Street Court East. East of the rail crossing, SR 70 will be open to local traffic only from US 301 to 18th St Boulevard E. West of the rail crossing, SR 70 will be open to local traffic only from US 41/14th Street W to 17th Street Court E. FDOT urge motorists to follow the posted detour or identify alternate routes. The posted detour for SR 70 westbound is SR 70 to US 301 to 63rd Avenue E to 14th Street W to SR 70. For SR 70 eastbound traffic, follow SR 70 to 14th Street W to 63rd Avenue E to US 301 to SR 70 eastbound.
