Governor Ron DeSantis today signed the “Bold Vision for a Brighter Future” budget for fiscal year 2019-2020. This budget ensures that Florida will continue to be a national leader in innovative, evidence-based approaches to juvenile justice and helps to strengthen the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice’s work in reducing juvenile delinquency and providing optimal services for youth and families.
“I would like to thank Governor DeSantis and the Florida Legislature for continuing to invest in Florida’s at-risk youth by supporting prevention and early intervention services as well as supporting funding to increase the level of evidence-based treatment services for those youth most in need,” said Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Secretary Simone Marstiller. “The funding provided will ensure that we continue to best serve youth and families and remain focused on public safety for all Floridians.”
