Public Information Open House for Wekiva Parkway Section 7B

Posted on July 1, 2019

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a pre-construction public information open house about the Wekiva Parkway Section 7B project in Seminole County to review the anticipated non-tolled road improvements.

The open house will be on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lakeside Fellowship United Methodist Church, 121 N. Henderson Lane, Sanford, FL 32771. During the meeting, attendees will have an opportunity to learn about the construction process for this project, view exhibits and speak with project team members.

The construction project limits are State Road (S.R.) 46 from Orange Boulevard to Wayside Drive-Oregon Street. This project involves 1.3 miles of improvements, including roadway widening, medians, bike lanes, traffic signal upgrades, lighting, drainage and other roadway features. Work will include a 10-foot-wide sidewalk on the south side of S.R. 46. Construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2019.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status. Persons wishing to express their concerns relative to FDOT compliance with Title VI may do so by contacting Jennifer Smith, FDOT District Five Title VI Coordinator, at [email protected].

Persons with disabilities who require accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation services (free of charge) should contact Mary Brooks, community outreach specialist, by phone at 407-694-5505, or via email at [email protected], at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting.  If you are hearing or speech impaired, please contact us by using the Florida Relay Service, 1-800-955-8771 (TDD) or 1-800-955-8770 (Voice).

Media inquiries should be directed to the FDOT Communications Office at [email protected] or by phone at 386-943-5479. Project information is also available online at wekivaparkway.com, and by following the project on Facebook and Twitter.
