FDLE arrests 5 juveniles on felony charges

Posted on July 8, 2019

FDLE agents today arrested five juveniles for grand theft and other charges in connection to a series of burglaries at businesses in Orange, Osceola, Lake and Seminole counties.

Roosevelt Hemphill, 18; Javhion Hemphill, 17; Lamick McLeod, 18; James Williams, 16; and JonJon Williams, 17, all face charges of grand theft and burglary of an unoccupied structure. Lamick McLeod faces an additional count of burglary. JonJon Williams faces three additional counts of burglary and three counts of criminal mischief. McLeod has a listed address of 5223 Via Maoir, Orlando; the other suspects list their address as 372 N. Pine Hills Rd., Orlando.

During the course of the investigation, agents discovered the group burglarized at least 11 businesses from December 2017 through April 2018. In most instances, they forced their way in by breaking locks or smashing glass entryways. Some of the items stolen included cars, which were then used in the commission of other burglaries. It is estimated the group made off with about $15,000 in goods and caused at least $5,000 in property damage.

The suspects were taken to the Orange County Jail. Attorney General Ashley Moody’s Office of Statewide Prosecution will handle the case.
