Senator Lauren Book Reacts to Arrest, Indictment of South FL Serial Sex Trafficker Jeffrey Epstein

Posted on July 8, 2019

“No amount of money or power can keep what is done in darkness from coming to light. With the arrest and indictment of serial sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, young women who were silenced and made to feel invisible for far too long have finally been given a voice. Justice has been delayed, but thanks to the tireless work of journalist Julie Brown and a dedicated legal team, Epstein will at long last be held accountable for his pedophilic predation. I can only hope that those who enabled Epstein’s enslavement and exploitation will also be held accountable for their roles in his house of horrors. For all others lurking in the shadows: your days are numbered.”

About State Senator Lauren Book
Lauren Book represents Broward County, District 32 in the Florida State Senate. After surviving childhood sexual abuse, Book went on to become an internationally-recognized child safety expert and child advocate. She sponsored SB 540, signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis late last month, to crack down on human trafficking by curbing demand, increasing training requirements for hospitality and massage industries, and providing support services for survivors.
