Governor Ron DeSantis Reappoints Joel Schleicher
to the Southwest Florida Water Management District
Governor Ron DeSantis today announced the reappointment of Joel Schleicher to the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
Joel Schleicher
Schleicher, of Sarasota, is an entrepreneur and operator of technology companies selling enterprise solutions. He has served on the Southwest Florida Water Management District since 2017. Currently, Schleicher is the executive chairman of Focal Point Data Risk, an IT risk management consulting firm which he founded in 2013. He is originally from Minnesota, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. Schleicher is reappointed for a four-year term.
The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
Governor Ron DeSantis Makes Two Judicial Appointments
Governor Ron DeSantis today announced the appointments of Stacy Youmans to the Fifth Circuit Court and Jeffrey Hendriks to the St. Lucie County Court.
Stacy Youmans
Youmans, of Ocala, has been a partner at Blanchard, Merriam, Adel & Kirkland since 2008. She previously served as a prosecutor for the Fifth Circuit State Attorney’s Office. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and her law degree from Mercer University. Youmans fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Willard Pope.
Jeffrey Hendriks
Hendriks, of Port St. Lucie, is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and has been a major crimes prosecutor for the 19th Circuit State Attorney’s Office since 2016. He has previously served as a felony supervisor and an Assistant State Attorney for the 19th Circuit State Attorney’s Office. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and his law degree from Stetson University. Hendriks fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Phillip Yacucci.
Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Two to the Construction Industry Licensing Board
Governor Ron DeSantis today announced the appointment of Mario Famada and the reappointment of Donald Cesarone, Jr. to the Construction Industry Licensing Board.
Mario Famada
Famada, of Miami, is the owner of City Roofing and Construction, Inc. He is the founder of Raise the Roof, a non-profit organization that provides free roofs for families in need in Miami-Dade County. Famada is an active Den Leader for the Boy Scouts of America. Famada is appointed to a four-year term.
Donald Cesarone Jr.
Cesarone, of Sunrise, is the vice president of the commercial division for Van Kirk and Sons, Inc., a luxury pool contractor in Palm Beach County. He previously served as a chapter president of the Florida Swimming Pool Association. Cesarone is reappointed to a four-year term.
