The Florida Lottery announces that Amelia Garritani, 75, of Hudson, claimed the first $1,000 a week top prize from the new $1,000 A WEEK FOR LIFE Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $810,000.00.
Garritani purchased her winning ticket from Racetrac, located at 9932 U.S. Highway 19 in Port Richey. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.
The new $1,000 A WEEK FOR LIFE Scratch-Off game launched on July 1 and features over 9.8 million winning tickets, including eight top prizes of $1,000 a week for life! Overall odds of winning are one-in-4.43.
Scratch-Offs are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, generating more than $871 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in FY 2017-18, and comprising approximately 69 percent of ticket sales.
