Governor Ron DeSantis today spoke at the Florida Trucking Association Annual Conference. The annual conference is held to discuss congestion, new technologies on and off the road as well as regulation and infrastructure. The Governor was joined by Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Kevin Thibault.
“Truckers play an integral role in our state’s overall economic development strategy and recovery efforts if disaster were to strike,” said Governor DeSantis. “Florida has one of the most reliable transportation systems in the country and we will never stop working for the men and women of the trucking industry or the continued success of Florida’s transportation system.”

In the Governor’s recently signed Bold Vision for a Brighter Future budget, $9.7 billion was appropriated for the State Transportation Work Program, of which $2.7 billion is for highway construction and $1.1 billion is for bridge repairs and replacements. The budget also includes $10 million in funding dedicated to career and technical education through the newly created Florida Pathways to Career Opportunities Grant Program.
The Florida Trucking Association has promoted Florida’s trucking and transportation system for over 80 years.
