Governor Ron DeSantis today issued Executive Order 19-184, removing suspended City Commissioner for the City of Tallahassee, Florida, Scott Maddox, in accordance with section 112.51(5), Florida Statutes.
On August 6, 2019, Scott Maddox pled guilty, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida, to honest services wire fraud, honest services mail fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States, and the Court accepted the plea.
Section 112.51(5), Florida Statutes, provides that the Governor shall remove a municipal officer who is convicted of any charge contained in an indictment or information, including any person who pleads guilty.
