Roger Germann, President and CEO of the Florida Aquarium, to Speak at UT on Oct. 3

Posted on September 11, 2019

On Thursday, Oct. 3, The University of Tampa will welcome Roger Germann, president and CEO of the Florida Aquarium, as part of the Sykes College of Business’ TECO Energy Center for Leadership Speaker Series. Germann’s presentation, ““Not-for-Profit” is a Title Only: We are a Business,” begins at 4:30 p.m. in the Board Room on the ninth floor of the Vaughn Center, and is free and open to the public.

Germann has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the private and public sector, and is recognized as one of the zoological community’s top leaders and strategists. Since joining the Florida Aquarium in June 2017, he has actively raised the profile of the aquarium, which was recognized byUSA Today readers as the second-best aquarium in North America.

Germann served as executive vice president for more than 16 years at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. He has also served in several national leadership positions, including chair of the Association of Zoos & Aquarium’s Aquarium Affairs Committee, as well as being a founding member of the Aquarium Conservation Partnership.

Due to limited seating, reservations are required at ut.edu/cfl/speakerseries. For more information, contact Whitney Ortiz, coordinator of Sykes College of Business operations, at [email protected] or (813) 257-3782.

The University of Tampa is a private, residential university located on 110 acres on the riverfront in downtown Tampa. Known for academic excellence, personal attention and real-world experience in its undergraduate and graduate programs, the University serves approximately 9,300 students from 50 states and 132 countries. Approximately 62 percent of full-time students live on campus, and about half of UT students are from Florida.
