Madison PD, FDLE arrest man for homicide

Posted on September 14, 2019

Investigators with Madison Police Department, along with FDLE agents, arrested De’Vante Jaquan Washington, 25, of Madison for homicide after the shooting death of 23-year-old Quantavious Damariuse Wilson.

Investigators say Washington and another man had a physical altercation over a bicycle before 9 this morning in Madison Heights.  Mr. Wilson stepped in to break up the fight.   After the fight ended, Washington left, retrieved a gun and shot Mr. Wilson, who passed away at the scene.

Washington fled on foot but turned himself into the police station around 3:40 this afternoon.  He was booked into the Madison County Jail and additional charges are pending.  The case will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 3rd Judicial Circuit.
