Posted on September 18, 2019

Community is Invited to “The Experience 2019”

Hip-Hop artist Lil Baby is among the headliners for the Florida A&M University (FAMU) Homecoming 2019 activities, which also feature a women’s forum with alumna Rashan Ali and Converse CEO G. Scott Uzzell serving as the convocation speaker.

Lil Baby, Kash Doll and Ball Greezy are booked for the ticketed hip-hop concert scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 2, in the Al Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium.

The week of activities kicks off Sunday, Sept. 29 with the Miss and Mr. FAMU Coronation and wraps with the Homecoming Game against North Carolina Central University, Saturday Oct. 5 at Bragg Stadium followed by the McDonald’s Gospel Concert Saturday night at the Lawson Center. The concert will feature Donald Lawrence, Keke Wyatt, Kierra Sheard, Sir the Baptist, Tye Tribbett, DJ Standout and, host Lonnie Hunter.

During the Homecoming Game, the University will recognize five FAMU alumni who are college presidents.  A day earlier, FAMU alumnus Uzzell, who became CEO and president of Converse in January, will be the keynote speaker for the Homecoming Convocation.

A new addition to the Homecoming schedule this year is “An Empowering Experience: State of the FAMU Woman,” featuring actress and FAMU alumni Rashan Ali and artist and entrepreneur Melissa Mitchell, whose designs have been sold by Spanks.
