Former University of Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops will speak at the Flagler College Crimson & Gold Banquet Wednesday, Oct. 23 in the Hotel Ponce de Leon’s elegant dining hall. The event starts at 6 p.m. with a social and a silent auction. The dinner follows at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for the annual event.
All proceeds from the silent and live auctions benefit the Flagler Athletics Scholarship Fund. Last year, these events together helped raise $125,000.
Stoops is known as a legendary college football coach as he’s the only one to have wins in all four BCS Bowl Games – the Rose, Sugar, Fiesta and Orange Bowls. He’s also a National Championship coach with ten coach of the year awards. In February of next year, he’ll begin his new role as head coach of the new Dallas XFL (football) team.

The event coincides with the Flagler College/W. W. Gay Mechanical Contractors President’s Golf Classic presented by Ameris Bank. The tournament will take place at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 25 at King and Bear at World Golf Village. Sponsorship and participation options are still available by visiting the registration site here.
