Governor Ron DeSantis today announced the appointments of Rachel Nordby and Adam Tanenbaum to the First District Court of Appeal. The First District Court is situated within North Florida.
Rachel Nordby
Nordby, of Tallahassee, is a partner at Shutts & Bowen LLP. She previously served as Senior Deputy Solicitor General in the Attorney General’s Office. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and her law degree from the Florida State University College of Law, where she was editor-in-chief of the Law Review. Nordby fills the vacancy created by the confirmation of Judge Allen Winsor to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida.
Adam Tanenbaum
Tanenbaum, of Tallahassee, is the General Counsel for the Florida House of Representatives. He previously served as the General Counsel for the Florida Department of State, as Chief Deputy Solicitor General in the Attorney General’s Office, and as an Assistant Federal Public Defender. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his law degree from Georgetown University. Tanenbaum fills the vacancy created by the confirmation of Judge Kent Wetherell to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida.
