Youth advocates and legislators to speak out about dark truth behind forced parental consent for abortion

Posted on October 18, 2019

On October 22, youth advocates and legislators will hold a press conference to speak out about why they oppose House Bill 265 just before the bill will make its one and only committee stop at the House Health & Human Services Committee.

“This bill is bad public policy that will further endanger our already at risk young people,” said FSU Generation Action President Michelle Stern. “But the truth is that passing this legislation is just the first step in a much larger and more alarming plan to have our constitutional right to privacy reinterpreted to no longer safeguard access to abortion.”

Who:

  • FAMU Generation Action President Tori Terrell
  • FSU Generation Action President Michelle Stern
  • State Representative Anna Eskamani
  • State Representative Amy Mercado
  • Other speakers to be announced

What: Press Conference about the dark truth behind forced parental consent

When: October 22, 11:30AM

Where: Florida Capitol, fourth floor (House side)

Note: The Health & Human Services Committee will only hear this bill at their 1-3PM meeting. We will have speakers available for comment during and after the committee.
