Motorists traveling west on Ronald Reagan Boulevard (County Road (C.R.) 427) at U.S. 17-92 should expect a traffic pattern change and detour this weekend.

From 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1 to 6:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, crews will close all three thru lanes on Ronald Reagan Boulevard and channel traffic into the left turn lane at the intersection. As a result, left turns from Ronald Reagan Boulevard to U.S. 17-92 will be strictly prohibited.

During the work, those needing to travel north on U.S. 17-92 will turn right from the left turn lane on Ronald Reagan Boulevard. Drivers needing to travel south on U.S. 17-92 will cross the intersection of U.S. 17-92 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard and be directed to turn left on Silkwood Court and then right on U.S. 17-92 (see attached map).

The lane closures will allow crews to place concrete pavement on the roadway.

The work is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to widen U.S. 17-92 from four to six lanes from Shepard Road to Lake Mary Boulevard. Please note construction schedules may change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Electronic message boards and other signage will be used to direct motorists safely around the traffic changes.

Media inquiries should be directed to the FDOT Communications Office at [email protected] or by phone at 386-943-5479. Project information is also available online at CFLRoads.com.

FDOT urges all drivers to stay alert and use caution while driving through or near construction zones. When driving, walking, or bicycling, remember to pay attention and follow the rules. Safety doesn’t happen by accident.
