FAMU MMERI Forum Radio Episode Focuses on Faith and Medical Marijuana

Posted on November 1, 2019

This week’s episode of Florida A&M University (FAMU) MMERI Forum Radio focuses on faith and medical marijuana. The program features Elder Erta Livingston, Ph.D., director of patient services at Shands UF Health Jacksonville and senior pastor of Gainesville Church of God by Faith #1.

Co-hosting this week’s show are Angela Hardiman, Medical Marijuana Education and Research Initiative (MMERI) public affairs liaison, and Patricia Green-Powell, Ph.D., MMERI interim executive director.

MMERI Forum Radio is a half-hour weekly radio program that airs on Friday and Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on FAMU’s WANM Radio 90.5 FM in Tallahassee and Gadsden counties; Friday at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. on WILD Radio 95.5 FM in West Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast and Sunday at 7 a.m. on WHBX Radio 96.1 in Leon, Gadsden, Jefferson and Wakulla counties. The program is also available 24/7 on the iHeart podcasting platform HERE.

MMERI Forum Radio is an expansion of its successful community forums designed to inform and educate the public about medical marijuana and the impact of the unlawful use of marijuana on Florida’s diverse communities. The initial programming consists of an 8-episode series featuring conversations with pastors, law enforcement, legislators, pharmacists and medical doctors discussing medical marijuana and marijuana.

The MMERI was launched in response to the Florida Legislature’s funding allocation to educate “minorities about marijuana for medical use and the impact of the unlawful use of marijuana on minority communities.”
