MEDIA ADVISORY
Representative Margaret Good (D- Sarasota) and Representative Loranne Ausley (D- Tallahassee) will host a screening of Surviving Lunch on Tuesday, November 12, from 5:50-7:30pm. The film, which was released shortly after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting, was produced in Sarasota by Source Productions and explores issues surrounding bullying and school violence.
“This movie acts as a catalyst for discussion of the hard issues facing many of our students today,” said Representative Good. “Bullying, peer pressure, mental and emotional health problems, as well as access to guns contribute to the school violence epidemic, and are issues our students navigate every day. My hope is that this film will provide my colleagues and I an opportunity to discuss solutions to the critical issues contributing to violence in our schools.”
The screening takes place on Tuesday, November 12 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Challenger Learning Center located at 200 S. Duval Street in Tallahassee. There will be a brief panel discussion immediately following the film with the producers of the film and mental health professionals. To register for this event, please click HERE.
