Current traffic patterns remain on major interstate projects

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will suspend lane closures in the Central Florida region from Nov. 27 – Dec. 1. That said, construction zones will remain in place and motorists must still exercise caution when driving through areas under construction, as traffic patterns may include driving on temporary pavement and shifting lanes. Major interstate projects where construction zones will be encountered are: the I-4 Ultimate, I-4 Beyond the Ultimate, the I-95 widening project in Volusia County, I-75 near the Florida’s Turnpike in Sumter County, and at I-75 and State Road (S.R.) 200 in Ocala.

Those traveling along the roads during this busy travel season should note a valuable resource to check for road alerts and other travel advisories. The FDOT’s 511 Traveler Information System offers five convenient ways to check real-time traffic conditions: call 511; visit FL511.com ; download the Florida 511 app for Apple or Android devices; follow @FL511 on Twitter; or sign up for a “My Florida 511” account on FL511.com to receive personalized alerts.

Attached is the Weekly Interstate Report which includes major construction for the week of Nov. 24. To find up-to-date information on all FDOT projects in Central Florida, please go to the FDOT District Five project website, cflroads.com.

Media inquiries should be directed to the FDOT District Five Communications Office at [email protected], or by phone at 386-943-5593.

The FDOT wishes everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday. Remember to buckle up and avoid distractions while driving.
