FAMU MMERI Forum Radio Episode Features Gleaned Conversations On Cannabis

Posted on November 26, 2019

This week’s episode of Florida A&M University (FAMU) MMERI Forum Radio is a compilation of conversations on cannabis gleaned from the Medical Marijuana Education and Research Initiative (MMERI) community forums in Orlando, Pensacola and Leon County. The program features pastors, law enforcement, researchers, pharmacists, legislators and physicians talking about medical marijuana and the unlawful use of marijuana.

Co-Hosting this week’s show are Angela Hardiman, MMERI public affairs liaison and Carol Angela Davis, JD, MMERI communications liaison and FAMU associate director of communications.

MMERI Forum Radio is a half hour weekly radio program that airs on Friday and Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on FAMU’s WANM Radio 90.5 FM in Tallahassee and Gadsden counties; Friday at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. on WILD Radio 95.5 FM in West Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast and Sunday at 7 a.m. on WHBX Radio 96.1 in Leon, Gadsden, Jefferson and Wakulla counties. The program is also available 24/7 on the iHeart podcasting platform at: iheart.com/podcast/269-mmeri-forum-radio-51146091/.

MMERI Forum Radio is an expansion of its successful community forums designed to inform and educate the public about medical marijuana and the impact of the unlawful use of marijuana on Florida’s diverse communities. The initial programming consists of an 8-episode series featuring conversations with pastors, law enforcement, legislators, pharmacists and medical doctors discussing medical marijuana and marijuana.

The MMERI was launched in response to the Florida Legislature’s funding allocation to educate “minorities about marijuana for medical use and the impact of the unlawful use of marijuana on minority communities.”
