Governor Ron DeSantis Makes Five Judicial Appointments

Governor Ron DeSantis today announced one appointment to the 20th Circuit Court covering Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry and Lee County, two appointments to the Palm Beach County Court and two appointments to Hillsborough County Court.

20th Circuit Court

Shannon McFee
McFee, of Naples, has been a criminal defense attorney since 1994. He previously served as an Assistant State Attorney in the 20th Circuit State Attorney’s Office. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and his law degree from Florida State University College of Law. McFee fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Christine Greider.

Palm Beach County Court

Sara Shullman
Shullman, of Wellington, is a Bureau Chief in the Attorney General’s Office. She previously served as a Civil Traffic Hearing Officer for the Fifteenth Circuit Court. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Shullman fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Caroline Shepherd to the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit.

Melanie Surber
Surber, of Delray Beach, is an Assistant Attorney General in the Palm Beach County Attorney General’s Office. She received her bachelor’s degree from Boston University and her law degree from Nova Southeastern University. Surber fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Sheree Cunningham.

Hillsborough County Court

James Moody III
Moody, of Tampa, is an attorney at Jayson, Farthing, Skafidas & Wright P.A. He received his bachelor’s degree and his law degree from the University of Florida. Moody fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Alissa Ellison to the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit.

Michael Bagge-Hernandez
Bagge-Hernandez, of Tampa, is an Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida. He received his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and his law degree from Stetson University College of Law. Bagge-Hernandez fills the vacancy created by the Elevation of Judge Jared Smith to the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit.
