The Florida Conference of Black State Legislators in partnership with the Florida Legislative Black Caucus will host their Annual State of Black Florida Events scheduled for January 23-24, 2020 in Tallahassee, Florida. Leaders and stakeholders from across the state will address and educate the community on the most critical issues currently affecting Blacks in the state of Florida.
The Annual State of Black Florida Events will kick off with a free and open to the public Chairman’s Welcome Reception at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2020, at the Doubletree Hotel, 101 South Adams Street. The Annual Kershaw-Cherry Legislative Luncheon will be held at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, 505 West Pensacola Street at noon on Friday, January 24, 2020. The keynote speaker will be Army Lieutenant General Gwendolyn Bingham. The events will conclude with the Annual Scholarship Gala Celebration at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, 505 West Pensacola Street at 8:00 p.m., on Friday, January 24, 2020. Tickets to the Legislative Luncheon and Scholarship Gala Celebration are available for purchase on the event website fcbsl.org. Portions of the proceeds will be used to provide scholarships to deserving college students.
