Governor Ron DeSantis Issues Executive Reassignment of Nicole Montalvo Murder Case

Posted on January 31, 2020

Governor Ron DeSantis today issued Executive Order 20-24, reassigning the murder case of Nicole Montalvo to State Attorney Brad King of the Fifth Judicial Circuit. Nicole Montalvo was murdered in October of 2019 and charges have yet to be filed despite an investigation that has been completed.

“After review by my office and consultation with the Montalvo family, today I am issuing an executive reassignment of the Nicole Montalvo murder case to State Attorney Brad King of the Fifth Judicial Circuit,” said Governor DeSantis. “Under the current circumstances, I believe moving the case under State Attorney King’s jurisdiction provides the best chance for the Montalvo family to receive the justice they deserve.”
