This week, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is joining other DOTs and organizations throughout the country to celebrate National Engineers Week. For nearly 70 years, National Engineers Week has focused on increasing public awareness of careers in the engineering and technology fields and the contributions engineers make to society. Through the expertise and continuous dedication of FDOT’s engineers, Florida continues to be a leader in transportation throughout the country.
“FDOT is home to some of the best and brightest engineers who are working to build Florida’s transportation system into the future,” said Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Kevin J. Thibault, P.E. “Not only is this week an opportunity to recognize the men and women who serve our state each day, it is also a great way to encourage students to explore exciting careers in the engineering field.”
FDOT will also be highlighting its talented engineers and their projects on its social media channels. Be sure to follow along on Facebook at @FLDOT, on Instagram at @my_fdot and Twitter at @MyFDOT. In addition, FDOT has published a video celebrating its engineers and their projects on its YouTube channel and is encouraging the public to share in an effort to build awareness of the people behind crucial projects throughout the state.
