MEDIA ADVISORY
Agriculture Commissioner Nicole “Nikki” Fried will be joined this morning by local elected officials and advocacy groups to highlight a $250,000 energy efficiency grant project.
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Office of Energy awarded a grant to the City of Oakland Park to retrofit energy efficient LED lighting at Wimberly Fields Park, which will save the city more than $800,000 over 25 years. The grant is among millions of dollars in grants administered by the FDACS Office of Energy, which the Florida House recently voted to strip from Commissioner Fried’s department in what The Palm Beach Post agreed is a “partisan power grab.”
