Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez Endorsed by the Florida Education Association & the United Teachers of Dade

Posted on May 12, 2020

Reflecting his strong record of support and commitment to public education, Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez (D-Miami) has been endorsed by the Florida Education Association and the United Teachers of Dade in his campaign for re-election to Florida Senate District 37.

“Throughout my career, I have made protecting public education and ensuring our students, teachers, and education professionals have the resources they need a top priority,” stated Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez. “During this unprecedented time, we have all seen the incredible importance educators play in the daily lives of our children and we cannot thank them enough for their efforts. I am honored to have the support of the Florida Education Association and the United Teachers of Dade and look forward to continuing to work with our sisters and brothers in labor for a better public education system for all Florida students.”

Comprising over 100 local unions, the Florida Education Association is the largest labor union in the Southeast. The FEA collectively represents more than 145,000 education professionals throughout the state of Florida.

“Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez is a champion for public education who always puts our students and education professionals first,” declared Florida Education Association President Fedrick Ingram. “Our members in the FEA are proud to endorse Senator Rodriguez for re-election and we are excited to continue to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with him for the future of public education in Florida.”

Representing more than 30,000 members in Miami-Dade County, the United Teachers of Dade work to advance the cause of public education locally. The UTD stands up for the rights of education professionals, while working with parents and the community to build a stronger Miami-Dade.

“The future of our community lies in our commitment to public education and we could not ask for a stronger partner on the local level than Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez,” proclaimed United Teachers of Dade President Karla Hernandez-Mats. “This endorsement is a direct reflection of the positive work Senator Rodriguez has done, and will continue to do, on behalf of the students, parents, and education professionals of Miami-Dade County.”
